Communicator

The Communicator Details pane displays the details of the configured communicator. For more information on communicator details, see Account Overview.

Viewing Communicator Details

To view the communicator details:

  1. In the AlarmNet 360 home page, type the City-CS-Sub or MAC ID of the device and then click Search.
    The account number, along with the device details, appears.

  2. Under Actions, select Edit and then click the icon. The Account Overview page appears.

  3. In the left pane, click Diagnostics. The Communicator page appears.

The details of the communicator is displayed under Communicator Details. The following table describes the communicator details.

Fields

Description

Communicator Status

Displays the status of the communicator.

Alarm Reporting Number

Displays the City-CS-Sub ID.

MAC

Displays the MAC ID of the communicator.

CRC

Displays the Cyclic Redundant Check (CRC) of the communicator.

Product Name

Displays the name of the panel/device.

Radio Version

Displays the radio version of the communicator module.

Active Since

Displays the date since when the communicator has been active.

Last Registered

Displays the date when the communicator was registered.

Supervision

Displays the supervision type.

Last Status Check-in

Displays the date when the last check-in of the communicator occurred.

Next Status Check-in

Displays the date when the next check-in of the communicator is scheduled.

Signal Strength

Displays the signal strength of the Cellular communicator.

 

Notes:

At the top right corner of the Communicator Details pane, you can also:

  • Click Refresh to refresh the communicator details.

  • Click Software Version Request to request for the software version.

  • Click Reset to reset the communicator.

Monitoring Quality of Service (QOS)

The QOS pane enables you to monitor the signal strength of the communicator over a period of time.

To monitor the QOS of the communicator:

  1. In the left pane, click Diagnostics. The Communicator page appears.

  2. Under QOS, to set the Date Range, you must:

  3. Click Apply. The QOS log, for the selected date range, is displayed. The following table describes the QOS log details.

Description

Received On

Displays the date when the QOS data was received.

Line (V)

Displays the line voltage.

Batt (V)

Displays the battery voltage.

Net

Displays the Internet type.

Qval

Displays the quality of the signal strength.

Recvr. Lvl

Displays the current signal strength of the Cellular communicator.

Min Sig.

Displays the minimum signal strength of the Cellular communicator.

Max Sig.

Displays the maximum signal strength of the Cellular communicator.

 

Notes:

  • To view the signal strength of different communicator networks, click the icon appearing next to QOS.

  • At the top right corner of the QOS pane, you can click:

    • Get QOS data to process the command and receive the current QOS data. You can also view the QOS data stored since the last ninety days.

    • icon to download the QOS log to your computer.

Alarms

The Alarms pane enables you to monitor the alarms.

To monitor the alarms of the communicator:

  1. In the left pane, click Diagnostics. The Communicator page appears.

  2. Under Alarms, to set the Date Range, you must:

  3. Click Apply. The Alarms log, for the selected date range, is displayed.

Details such as Heard On, MAC, Alarm number, Description, and the Origin of alarm field appears. Also, under Action, click View to view the alarm history and other details.

Notes:

  • To view the signal strength of different communicator networks, click the icon appearing next to Alarms.

  • At the top right corner of the Alarms pane, you can click:

    • Test Alarm: Enables you to obtain the alarms from the primary communicator. Occurs only if one communicator is connected to the panel.

    • Test Alarm (Ethernet) and Test Alarm (Cell): Enables you to obtain the alarms from the Ethernet and Cellular module. Occurs when two communicators are connected to the panel.
